HerStory - Meet Dr. Rusila Savou-Wara
Dr. Rusila Savou-Wara an Environmental Engineer found her love for science at a very young age. “Growing up I had always wanted to be a doctor thus I decided to take pure science subjects in high school.” - Dr. Rusila Savou-Wara.
It is exciting to meet an Indigenous Fijian that possesses the academic background and career that Dr. Savou-Wara has. Her willingness to be interviewed for International Women’s Day, demonstrates her determination to be a role model for young Indigenous women across the South Pacific region. Hopefully, her participation in this interview will highlight the need for women of color, from across the world, to enter STEM.

The Heart: the Organ of Life and Love
The heart is a fascinating organ! It fuels our lives- both physically and emotionally. The heart, in its most basic description, is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body. It is a STEM topic for sure, but science isn’t the only place where the heart gets mentioned.
RBCs, WBCs, and Platelets: Oh My!
Have you ever wondered what your blood does for you? Or how your body has the ability to stop a cut from bleeding?Blood is a pretty special substance in our bodies. It has many special responsibilities, the most important one being carrying oxygen to all of the cells in our body, so they can continue to do their jobs, and then carrying carbon dioxide (CO2) to the lungs so we can breathe it out
Happy New Year!
On behalf of the Pink Space Theory Team, I want to thank everyone for supporting us this year. Despite this year's challenges, our community of volunteers, corporations, and local businesses came together to help us impact the lives of others. Amy Leigh Mercree's quote, "Kindness can transform someone's dark moment with a blaze of light. You'll never know how much your caring matters. Make a difference for another today." sums up what unwavering sacrifice can do for others during challenging times.
