About Us

Pink Space Theory team dedicated to advancing STEAM education

Vision

Inspiring, training, and transforming today’s underrepresented and underserved youth to become the next generation of leaders in STEAM.

Who We Are?

Pink Space Theory is a mobile STEAM-based maker space located in the Washington DC Metro Area.

We create space for the love of learning! We do this by providing meaningful student-centered educational programs that allow students to create, invent, tinker, explore, and solve real world challenges. We bring curriculum to life by transforming concepts into an authentic learning environment where students can incorporate real world skills into the learning process.

Pink Space Theory’s mission to empower youth through STEAM education

Why Mobile?

Many K-12 schools lack the necessary space, staff, and financial support to build robust makerspaces in every district school. We bring the 3Ps (people, project-based curricula, platform) to help students build 21st century skills.

STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math.

Many people may not be used to seeing the Arts included; most are used to just STEM, not Art. Here at Pink Space Theory, we aim to change that. We believe that the Arts are just as important as the other components in STEAM, and want to help young adults see that the arts can help them just as much as science, engineering, math, and technology can. By incorporating the arts into STEM, we can expand our horizons and continue to think up amazing new creations. Many young women want to work in an environment that is  creative but don’t think that careers in STEM will allow them to be as creative as they want to be. At Pink Space Theory,  we want to show those young women that they don’t have to give up their creative side in order to have a career in STEM;  rather, they should use their creativity to excel in STEM careers.

The skills that the arts teach us- creativity, passion, expression, thinking outside the box- could be instrumental in helping  create the newest technological advancements, in helping solve complex mathematical problems, in designing a new  engineering project. Through STEAM, we can create the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, artists,  and mathematicians who are analytical and expressive, calculated and creative, precise and passionate. At Pink Space  Theory, we want to inspire people to reach for the stars, and never give up. And we are doing that, one STEAM-inspired  individual at a time.
