In partnership with North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Society of Women Engineers Chapter, Pink Space Theory is hosting, The College Experience Panel Series. This virtual 3-panel series will spotlight the college experiences of women in STEM majors! This three-part series will have panelists from universities across the country who will share their experiences with remote learning, STEM organizations, and work/life balance. The G.R.E.A.T. Math Minds Program Changing The Way Girls Think About Math (Updated May 5, 2023)
There is a need to be met, especially in Prince William County, to build girls’ confidence in math and give them the tools for future success. In Prince William County, the Standard of Learning of Math passing rate for all fourth-grade students is 86%, but for Hispanic and Black girls, the passing rates drop to 81.73% and 79.33%. The passing rate further declines to 78.20% for girls that come from economically disadvantaged communities.
