Urmi is chartering her way towards becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst!
Urmi is a passionate worker in the financial service industry and has been working for five years. She is a brilliant-minded humanitarian who also co-authors financial blogs for Pink Space Theory and created a female-focused platform called Savvy and Smart Her, to empower girls and women to take control of every aspect of their lives.
Urmi passed her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) level 2 exam in August 2021. Even though her exam got postponed twice due to the pandemic, she didn't give up. She worked a full-time job while studying hard towards the Charter.
Urmi decided to pursue the CFA program to improve her credentials and inspire other women in the financial field to do the same. The driving force is her desire to push women towards higher levels of education and better employment opportunities to be financially independent. “It will give you better know-how in the areas of financial analysis, asset management, and principles”, explained Urmi. “The CFA charter also enhances your credentials and value.” Firms that focus on the "buy-side" (investing organizations like mutual funds institutions, pension funds organizations, and insurance companies that buy vast portions of securities for money-management purposes) prefer CFA charter holders to MBAs. A CFA charter is even more affordable than an MBA degree and since the charter trains you to manage many areas, like financing, management, research, it gives you a competitive edge as a charter holder.
In today's time, earning that competitive edge in the employment game is getting complicated. "The CFA charter will boost your credentials," explained Urmi. “Individuals in the trade know the dedication and self-discipline it needs to earn the CFA charter title. Getting the charter illustrates your work ethics, analytical skills, and ethical grounding to employers.”
Urmi is using her financial knowledge as a science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) role model. Urmi plans to take the Level 3 exam before the end of 2022
