PWC Gives a National Success!
The PWC Gives! Fundraiser was a success! Held virtually September 8-9-10, Pink Space Theory surpassed its goal by 450% by raising $4500! We are grateful to all of the volunteers, sponsors, and donors who supported this campaign. With this support, girls from disadvantaged households at Title I schools in Prince William County will be able to develop collaborative, coding, and technical skills outside of the classroom using the Sphero robot ball. By reaching this goal, we have secured funding for two school years! That means 60 girls in grades 4 and 5 will get a chance to learn how to code, plus learn about all of the amazing women pioneers in the field of computer science! We were also fortunate to be awarded two prizes from the Prince William County Community Foundation: a $250 Flash Prize and a $500 for being an IRS-recognized nonprofit with the most unique donors.
PWC Gives! saw the community come together to support one another with the help of an easy-to-use online giving platform. The 24-hour online fundraising event was designed to promote charitable giving throughout Prince William County, Virginia. This was an innovative way to boost local nonprofit’s fundraising efforts and exposure in the community. We were given the opportunity to participate in a live Facebook stream to connect with supporters, potential new donors, and other organizations. Through the online platform, we were also able to capture nationwide visibility and interest. A total of 20 organizations participated and a total of $39,381 was raised from 310 donors. Congratulations to the Foundation and all of the organizations for a successful fundraising event.
