PWC Gives 2023 Kicks Off September 14-15!

It is truly remarkable to witness the winds of change, but it is even more empowering to become the driving force behind it.  Several noble nonprofit organizations are again joining hands for PWC Gives, a county-wide virtual 24-hour giving campaign scheduled for September 14 led by the esteemed Prince William County Community Foundation.

Pink Space Theory  is thrilled to be part of this historic event that promises to revolutionize the future of girls in Prince William County. Our vision is to empower young girls with real-world STEAM education, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to build a secure and prosperous future.

The G.R.E.A.T. Math Minds Program

The vision behind the G.R.E.A.T.  Math Minds program is to get more girls excited, interested, and equipped to close the gender gap in the STEM sector.  The G.R.E.A.T. Math Minds Program aims to help bright young students with a flair for math excel and expand their learning by bolstering girls' confidence in math and allowing them to learn and grow outside of classroom pressures.

G.R.E.A.T. is an acronym that stands for Girls who are Responsible for their thoughts, Excited to learn new things, not afraid to Ask questions and Take risks.

The first-ever G.R.E.A.T Math Minds after school program in Prince William County was brought to Featherstone Elementary School in December 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year the program graduated 28 girls attending Featherstone, Neabsco, and Dale City Elementary Schools. This video lets you experience the graduation event for Neabsco and Dale City participants and their families.

Why must you donate to the fundraiser?

We need your help in offering more students access to our G.R.E.A.T.  Math Minds program!  By the year 2026, the county's STEM workforce is expected to grow by 2.5 million. The county needs to educate today's youth to meet the needs of the workforce.

With your donation, girls from disadvantaged and underrepresented households will learn valuable math skills to contribute to the development and future of Prince William County.

Moreover, the girls can financially support themselves and their families. STEM workers earn $14,000 more than the non-STEM workforce does.  For this reason, we need the people of Prince Williams County's support!
