Year In Review

New beginnings are the best time to reflect and move into the future with an expectation to do more to increase the opportunities and change the trajectory for those who need it the most!

Because of YOU, in 2022, we

•     Graduated twenty-six girls from our 6-month G.R.E.A.T. Math Minds gifted/accelerated math enrichment program. All of our G.R.E.A.T. Math Minds participants passed their standardized math test.

•     Launched a new Make Tech Pink Game Design Program to allow girls to see that they don’t have to give up their creative side to pursue careers in STEM.

•     Collaborated with Virginia Tech University and launched the first-ever Game Changineer workshop in Prince William County. The Game Changineer creator, a Virginia Tech professor, hosted this workshop and showed students (and teachers) how coding could teach grammar simultaneously!

•     Empowered and taught seven University of Maryland Baltimore College interns the art of creating fun and educational STEM lessons to spark STEM interest and curiosity.

•     Kicked off a new ambassador project with Osbourn Park High School Robotics Team at Kilby Elementary for 20+ 4th and 5th grade girls. Six young ladies from the high school robotics team showed the girls that “STEM is A Girl Thing”!

•     Served 93 additional students at two new Title 1 schools in Prince William County.

Thank you to our 2022 program sponsors, donors, and corporate volunteers!
